Description
The TRACER ProContour Gauge Marking Kit 250mm helps you copy a profile and transfer its shape onto another material. Kit reference ACG2 combines the 250mm contour gauge with a deep hole construction pencil and holster. It provides a practical marking set for fitting work around existing edges and obstructions.
Copy and transfer profiles
The gauge uses a row of moving pins that follow the outline of the shape placed against them. Its locking mechanism holds the copied profile while you move the tool to the workpiece. Both metric and imperial scales are provided, and the 250mm size is also described as 10 inches on the packaging.
TRACER identifies profile scribing applications including flooring, skirting and pipework. The gauge helps capture an outline; the accuracy of the finished fit still depends on positioning, marking and cutting the workpiece correctly.

Using the gauge
Position the gauge squarely against the profile you want to copy, allowing the pins to follow the outline without forcing them. Check that the captured shape represents the required cut line, then secure the profile with the locking mechanism before moving the tool.
Place the gauge on the material in the correct orientation and trace the outline with the supplied pencil. Allow for any required fitting clearance and check the mark before cutting. Where the profile is awkward or the material is valuable, make a trial template first and confirm that the shape fits as intended.
Care and storage
Keep the pins free from debris and check that they move normally before use. Protect the gauge from impacts and avoid placing heavy equipment on it in a tool bag. Store the pencil in its holster and use compatible replacement leads.
