What Is Ceresit CT17 Primer Used For?
CERESIT® CT17 Primer is a deep-penetrating, solvent-free product designed to prepare absorbent and dusty substrates. It strengthens the surface before applying adhesives, plasters, paints, or insulation materials. Whether you’re working on concrete, screed, or old plaster, this primer ensures long-term durability and adhesion.
This universal primer is ideal for both interior and exterior applications. It deeply penetrates porous materials, reduces absorbency, and improves the grip of follow-on layers. One of the major advantages is its quick-drying formula that allows for “wet-on-wet” applications after just 15 minutes. For builders and contractors, this means faster job turnaround and reduced delays on-site.
CT17 Primer is widely used in ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems), especially before applying EPS or XPS insulation boards. It also helps reduce the consumption of adhesive mortars, levelling compounds, and finishing renders.
The 5 L container provides coverage of approximately 50–60 m², depending on the porosity of the surface. This makes it a cost-effective and practical choice for both professionals and DIY users.
