Description
TIMCO assorted horseshoe shims provide a selection of plastic packers for levelling and positioning compatible components. This mixed tub contains approximately 400 pieces in thicknesses from 1mm to 6mm. It brings two sizes of shim together in one labelled container, so you can select a suitable thickness as the work progresses.
Mixed sizes and thicknesses
The tub contains small 45 x 35mm shims and large 100 x 50mm shims. Both sizes are supplied in six thicknesses, identified by colour. Yellow is 1mm, green is 2mm, blue is 3mm, red is 4mm, brown is 5mm and black is 6mm.
For each of the two sizes, the label lists 40 pieces each of the 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4mm thicknesses, plus 20 pieces each of the 5mm and 6mm thicknesses. The overall quantity is marked as approximately 400 pieces.

Positioning and levelling
The packaging identifies applications including battens, dry-lining systems, stud work, and door and window frames. Select the size and thickness to suit the gap and the support required. Check the level or alignment as you position the component, rather than relying on a single measurement at the start of the job.
Use shims within the installation method specified for the component being fitted. They are positioning accessories and do not replace the fasteners, anchors or other supports required by the installation. Where a project calls for a particular packing material or performance, confirm that the selected shim meets that requirement.
Keeping the assortment organised
Return unused shims to the tub and keep the lid secured during storage or transport. Keep the colour and thickness information visible so that the correct packer can be selected quickly. Fixings, tools, frames and other building components are sold separately.
