What Is CT16 Primer Paint Used For?
CERESIT CT16 Primer Paint 5L is a quartz primer designed to prepare substrates before applying thin-layer renders, plasters, paints and decorative façade finishes. It helps improve adhesion, evens out substrate absorption and creates a rough, stable surface for the next coating layer.
CT16 is suitable for use inside and outside buildings. It is commonly used before acrylic, mineral, silicone, silicate-silicone and elastomeric renders. It can also be applied to concrete, masonry, traditional renders, gypsum surfaces, chipboards, plasterboards and strong existing paint coatings.
As part of the CERESIT Ceretherm ETICS system, CT16 is used for priming reinforced base coat layers before the final render finish is applied. The fine aggregate within the primer helps create a textured surface, improving grip and reducing the risk of poor adhesion on smooth or absorbent substrates.
By reducing surface absorption, CT16 helps prevent the next coating from drying too quickly. This supports a more even finish and helps reduce the risk of stains or colour differences on coloured façade renders.
The 5L bucket is ideal for smaller render projects, repairs, detail areas and domestic applications where a full 10L bucket is not required.
