What Is Ceresit CT16 Quartz Primer Used For?
CERESIT® CT16 Quartz Primer is a water-based quartz-contact priming paint designed to improve surface grip before applying decorative renders, plasters or paints. It is suitable for traditional plastering and ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems).
This primer contains quartz aggregates that roughen the surface and boost scratch resistance. This helps prevent slippage of finishing coats and improves long-term durability. It’s suitable for concrete, gypsum plaster, chipboards, plasterboard, masonry, and previously painted walls.
The product reduces substrate absorbency and slows down drying time, making application of acrylic, mineral, silicone, or silicate plasters easier and more consistent. It also unifies the colour and texture of the surface, preventing blotching or uneven shades in coloured renders.
This quartz primer is ideal for professionals working on external façades or detailed interior finishes. It is quick-drying, ready to use and easy to apply with a roller or brush.
